I lead engineering teams through the shift to AI-assisted development, where people and coding agents work side by side. My job is to make that work in practice: clear processes, people in charge of the important decisions, and a team that gets faster without losing its grip on the domain knowledge.
About Me
How I lead, and what I care about

I studied at Tallinn University of Technology and have been building software ever since: first as a developer, then as a team lead at Audatex (Solera), and now as Engineering Manager at Interprefy. Along the way I've worked on financial messaging, telecom, insurance and government systems for clients across Europe.
I currently lead three teams, about 15 developers and QA engineers, working on a real-time AI translation platform. Over the past few years the platform has moved from relying on human interpreters to an AI stack that now handles the majority of customer translation, and the way we build it has changed just as much.
What I care about most is how the team works together. I want people to feel safe questioning a decision, including mine, and I'd rather remove a bottleneck than add a rule. Good process should make work easier: when we unified how our three teams release, each team got more control over its own deployments, and we started fixing technical debt before it turned into incidents.

Leading the shift to agentic development
Since 2025 my teams have worked with AI coding agents as part of everyday development, from writing code to automated testing. I ran workshops to help everyone get the most out of agentic workflows, and it shows: we now open two to three times as many pull requests, and QA went from almost no test automation to covering more than half of our testing.
As agents take on more of the writing, the bottlenecks move to planning, review and testing, so that is what I focus on. The important part is that people stay in charge of the decisions, and the team still understands and owns everything it ships.

13}Interprefy AI Translation Platform
Real-time interpretation platform for international conferences and events. I lead three teams of developers and QA engineers taking the platform from human interpreters to AI translation, transcription and speech, and taking our own engineering from traditional to agentic development.
Key Achievements:
- AI stack grew from 0% to the majority of customer translation
- One release process across three teams: 2-3x more frequent releases and fewer production incidents
- Rolled out AI coding agents to everyone in 2025, raising output across all three teams
- Moved the platform to horizontal scaling, serving thousands of concurrent users without downtime

11}AudaNet Global Insurance Platform Modernization
AudaNet connects insurance companies with repair shops and claims experts across 15+ countries. As team lead I led its move from a monolith to microservices, its B2B integrations, and the switch to a React frontend.
Key Achievements:
- Led the migration from monolith to microservices
- Integrations with 50+ insurance back-office systems
- Rebuilt the user frontend in React

8}NASDAQ OMX MHUB Financial Messaging Platform
MHUB is the central messaging hub for fund and securities depository communication in the Baltics. As lead developer I designed its message flows, which had to be secure, fast and always available.
Key Achievements:
- Message routing processing 1M+ transactions daily
- Integrations with 20+ banks and depositories in 3 countries
- Zero-downtime deployments

As a contractor I've usually combined a main role with long-running client projects. YouRoam is the longest of them: I've supported it since 2007, alongside everything else on this page.
Let's Connect
I'm open to Engineering Manager and Head of Engineering roles, contract or permanent.
Get in Touch
If your team is starting to work with AI agents, or wants to and isn't sure how to do it without losing control, I'd like to hear about it. The same goes for leadership roles, contract work, or simply comparing notes on running engineering teams.
